PayWave/ Tap transaction limits increased to reduce transmission of COVID-19

To help reduce risk of COVID-19 transmission, the Australian Payments Network (AusPayNet) have increased Contactless card PIN limits from $100 to $200.
The contactless PIN limit has been temporarily doubled to reduce instances of physical contact with PIN keypads.
Australians are being urged to stay home unless shopping for necessities to help stop the spread of Covid19. As a result many are reducing the number of times a week they shop and spending more in single transactions instead. The new $200 limit will assist to accommodate for this new trend in consumer behaviour.
The $200 Contactless PIN limit will be applied from Monday 6 April, on a 3 month temporary basis, unless an extension is deemed necessary.
During the roll out phase you may still be asked for a PIN if your balance is over $100. If this occurs simply enter your PIN as normal to proceed.
